Steering Committee

According to the YEAH Constitution and Guidelines, the Steering Committee is as follows:

YEAH will be directed by a Steering Committee consisting of 5 couples representing one voting unit per couple. The committee will be elected by a majority vote, of the YEAH membership, attending the May meeting and will take office on August 1. The newly elected Steering Committee will meet with current Steering Committee before taking office August 1. At the June meeting, the newly elected Steering Committee will elect a Moderator, Secretary, and a Social Media Moderator.
Eligible couples nominated to serve on the Steering Committee:
1) Must have homeschooled, as member of YEAH, for at least one year (year previous to nomination);
2) Must have been nominated previously by someone in YEAH membership;
3) Must be in complete agreement with the YEAH Statement of Faith.
Steering Committee members shall be elected to a one-year term of office. Steering Committee members may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms of office.  After two consecutive terms of office a steering committee member must rotate off for one year before being eligible to serve again. In addition to the Steering Committee, volunteers will fill the following positions: Treasurer, Membership Coordinator, and Web Master. The Steering Committee will choose all volunteer positions. Term of office for volunteer positions will run from September 1 until August 31
.

YEAH Constitution, Article IV

The Steering Committee will meet monthly.
Regularly scheduled membership meetings will be held 3-4 times a year.
The agenda will be set by The Steering Committee.

YEAH Constitution, Article VIII


The Steering Committee will be elected as described in Article IV of the Constitution of York Education At Home (YEAH) here afterward known as the YEAH Constitution.
1) Purpose of the Steering Committee: The purpose of the steering committee is to provide guidance to the YEAH Christian support group toward its yearly goals as determined by input from its membership, while abiding under the YEAH Constitution and in accordance with the YEAH Statement of Faith.
2) Officers of the Steering Committee: The officers of the Steering Committee shall consist of a Moderator and a Secretary as described in Article IV of the YEAH Constitution.
3) Roles and Responsibilities:
A. Steering Committee:
· To appoint YEAH members in leadership positions as described in Article IV of YEAH Constitution and to provide encouragement and oversight to the volunteers concerning their roles and responsibilities.
· To establish a budget for YEAH
· To review the Treasurer’s report and ensure that YEAH funds are spent in a prudent manner.
· To draft any future revisions or amendments that would be needed to the YEAH Constitution in accordance with Article IX.
B. The Moderator:
· To prepare an agenda for and moderate over Steering Committee meetings and regularly scheduled Membership Meetings.
C. The Secretary:
· To compile minutes from Steering Committee meetings and make them available to all Steering Committee members by email in a timely manner.
· To compile minutes from regularly scheduled Membership Meetings if requested by the Steering Committee Moderator.
· To keep and record a copy of any correspondence addressed to YEAH.
